Who pays for the visa?
As the sponsoring employer you cover the government visa application costs. You cannot pass these on to the worker, that’s a legal requirement. Melting Pot’s referral fee is separate and only charged when the wall and floor tiler starts.
What does Melting Pot charge?
A referral fee when the worker commences. Nothing upfront, nothing if the placement isn’t made.
Do I employ them directly?
Yes. You are the employer. The wall and floor tiler goes on your books, you pay their wages, super, and entitlements. We’re not a labour hire company, we introduce the right person and you hire them directly.
What if it doesn’t work out?
We have a replacement policy for placements that don’t stick. We’ll be clear about what that looks like when we start working together.
What are my obligations as a sponsoring employer?
You need to pay at least the market salary for the role, maintain the employment as agreed, and meet Australian workplace laws. We walk you through all obligations before you commit to anything.
